Explore the Green Spine with Christchurch Envirohub
Forming part of what is known as the Residential Red Zone, the Green Spine runs alongside the Avon Ōtākaro River and is a hub of community activity and ecological action with a solemn history. Heavily damaged by the 2010-2011 Christchurch Earthquakes, regeneration projects along the river corridor are turning abandoned land into restored native habitats and valuable community spaces.
